Discover the fascinating process of making your own microscope slides at this practical, hands-on microscopy workshop in the Humfrey Room Northampton.
During this full-day session, we’ll explore the complete process of microscope slide preparation, from cutting thin specimen sections through to mounting, staining and preparing finished slides ready to examine under the microscope.
It’s a great opportunity to learn practical microscopy and section-cutting techniques, develop your slide-making skills and get hands-on experience with guidance from experienced members of the NNHS Microscopy Section. You don’t need to be an expert – anyone with an interest in microscopes, microscopy, specimen preparation or the microscopic world is very welcome.
Places must be booked in advance by emailing microscopy@nnhs.info.
A small charge will apply to non-NNHS members to help cover materials and workshop costs.
Further details, including timings, will be confirmed here shortly.
