Northampton Street Art, Graffiti & Urban Photography with Mike Walsh
Colourful, creative and sometimes controversial – Northampton’s street art certainly gets people talking. But when does graffiti become street art, and who are the artists behind the amazing murals appearing on our streets?
Join Mike Walsh at the Humfrey Rooms in Northampton for a lively and colourful photographic tour of the Northampton Street Art Festival.
Through Mike’s own photographs, we’ll explore some of Northampton’s eye-catching street art and murals, meet some of the artists through photographs taken while they were actually at work, and see how blank walls are transformed into huge pieces of public art.
Along the way, Mike will look at the creativity, skill and imagination involved and tackle that intriguing question – where does graffiti end and street art begin?
Whether you love photography and art, enjoy discovering a different side of Northampton, or have simply wondered about the colourful murals you’ve spotted around town, come along and take a closer look.
No specialist knowledge needed and you certainly don’t have to know your Banksy from your spray can! Visitors and newcomers are very welcome – just come along, enjoy the pictures and join the conversation at the Humfrey Rooms.
