Zoology and Ornithology Section

The Zoology & Ornithology Section meets monthly at the Humfrey Rooms, bringing together anyone with an interest in the animal kingdom, from garden birds and British mammals to more exotic species from around the world.

Each meeting features an illustrated talk exploring a wide range of zoological and ornithological subjects. Our speakers drawn from knowledgeable members and invited specialists share research, field experiences and fascinating insights into animal behavior, ecology, conservation and identification. One month you might be discovering the secret lives of local bird species; the next, exploring marine mammals, insects, reptiles or wildlife conservation projects further afield.

Whether your passion lies in birdwatching, natural history, photography, or simply learning more about the creatures that share our planet, the Section offers an engaging and friendly environment in which to deepen your knowledge and exchange ideas.

Meetings begin at 2:30pm, and visitors as well as members are warmly welcomed. Come along and explore the remarkable diversity of the animal world with us.
